I’m a local parent of two children in Redfern, and I’m concerned about the catchment area drawn up for the new Inner Sydney High School.
Our children will have to walk past the brand-new school to catch the bus to their assigned public high school in Balmain, while other children will take public transport to get to the new school.
Another school is being built in Alexandria but that one may not even cover the expected enrolment from nearby Green Square, with its 60,000 residents.
I’ve just created an online petition calling on Education Minister Rob Stokes to urgently review the Inner Sydney High School catchment boundaries to include families who live within walking distance at its doorstep.
Could I get your support to sign this petition?
If we’re able to make the catchment area for the new Inner Sydney High School local, more of our children will be able to walk to school.
